Karina Garanzuay is a Multifaceted Artist (Photographer, Entertainer,  Painter, Writer and  Mixed Media Artist). She studied Fine Art & Art History at The University of Texas San Antonio. While studying & honing her craft, she sang and played in a band with her cousin called Anchors In Nostalgia (formerly The Boom Booms). 

 

     Though currently based in and born & raised in San Antonio, Texas . . . over the years she has lived coast to coast from California to New York City where she dabbled in numerous endeavors such as dancing professionally with Eveoke Dance Company in San Diego to working side by side with Fashion Designer, Betsey Johnson in her showroom in Manhattan.

 

      When she’s not creating new work, practicing for performances in her studio or out supporting the local art & music scene, she’s usually spending quality time with close friends & family, her boyfriend Svia and her little black cat, Onyx.

VELVET LA VAMP is her stage name & creative persona. She is known as "The Ghoulish Go-Go & Batty Ballerina Of Burlesque".
